Lakeland Athletics is excited to welcome Cassady Fox as the Varsity Cheer coach. Fox began cheering in 3rd grade and continued throughout her college career. After college, Fox joined the military and began coaching/helping teams all over the country while traveling.
When questioned about the program, Fox outlined her main goal as “to see more fans in the stands and get the student section more
involved.” She continued that growing the program from the youth ages beginning at the rocket football level and building the skill set and love for the sport at a young age is critical to her program development. She finished by adding “...I would love to see a competitive team started here at Lakeland and eventually see some college cheerleading scholarships offered.”
Fox has been a Laker for the past 6 years holding a part-time position, and just finalized her second year of full-time teaching. Fox ended her interview using the quote: “I used to have a life, now I am a cheer coach. When it is your passion it becomes your life.”
