Lakeland Primary students are among many in the state competing in the "Kids Heart Challenge", the Kids Heart Challenge is a program that teaches students how to live healthy lives and raise money for the American Heart Association.
The perks of participating in this competition go far beyond fundraising, and include:
Teaches students how to make healthy food choices
Teaches students how to avoid vaping and tobacco
Teaches students how to perform Hands-Only CPR
Helps students develop good character
Helps students develop emotional health
Helps students learn the importance of physical activity
Lakeland Primary raised a whopping $3,404.10 as a school! It appeared to be a close race between the 1st graders and our Kindergartners. The 1st grade class of Mrs. Rust raised the most money, bringing in $721, followed by Miss Olivares' Kindergarten class, who raised $511! Although the 1st graders raised the most money as a group ($1,406), the Kindergarten group had the most registered students (26)!
We are proud of all of our little Lakers for participating and fundraising and want to say a special thanks to all of Laker Nation who donated!
