We just learned that long-time Lakeland School nurse, Margaret Wagner, passed away February 26th. Mrs. Wagner was the school nurse for all 5 buildings at Lakeland. March Madness: Picture Books. Each classroom and a few others in our school submitted their favorite books. Over the next few weeks students will listen to picture books, discuss grade level standards, and vote on their favorites. Which book will be the champion?

Lakeland 2nd and 3rd graders will be taking IREAD this week. Drop Everything and Read! Students and adults carried their books awaiting a random announcement asking everyone to stop and read.. Each announcement included a reading tip. These tips included: using your finger to guide, summarize, and reading aloud can be helpful for comprehension.

Attention! Due to Lakeland hosting the IHSAA Boys Basketball Sectional, the venue for Cassidi Parham's Senior Project: Little Lady Laker Softball Camp on February 27 & 29th has changed. The camp will be held at LAKELAND PRIMARY SCHOOL. Forms are available in the offices at Lakeland Primary and Lakeland Intermediate schools. Forms are due on February 9th! The camp is open to grades K-5, and the cost is $30. All proceeds benefit the LaGrange County Softball League.
