Unfortunately, an error in our newsletter was noticed after it was mailed, despite several proof readers. Mr. Brad Jones is the principal at LIS, and he was misnamed in the article. This link leads to a corrected version: https://heyzine.com/flip-book/1500d920c6.html

Good evening Laker families. This message is regarding our fundraiser delivery at the Intermediate School. We have received word that the order will be delivered this Thursday, November 2, between noon and 1:00. This will give us time to sort the items in the gym to allow pick-up beginning at 3:30. We had over 200 students sell items so please help us make this operate smoothly by following the following procedures. We have been assured that the refrigerated items will be fine to sit out for delivery. All students will go home as normal. We will begin letting people into the building to pick up items at 3:30 for our car riders. Please pick your student up normally and then circle around and park in the lot until 3:30. This will allow us to safely dismiss our students. From 3:30 until 4:00 will be for car riders. From 4:00-4:30 for third graders. From 4:30-5:00 for fourth graders. From 5:00-5:30 for 5th graders. From 5:30-6:00 for 6th graders. We will have the doors open until 6:30. By sticking to this schedule we hope to maintain a flow. If you are unable to pick up your items on Thursday, we will call and arrange pick up on Friday. We will try to get any small orders sent home with students if we feel they can manage carrying them. Thank you for your support of our fundraiser. The funds raised will allow our students to have a lot of opportunities this school year.

Good afternoon. We just finished our first quarter of school. Grade cards will be sent home with students tomorrow. Please be looking for them. Also, parent teacher conferences are November 7 and 9 at LIS. Please make sure you schedule your if you haven’t done so already. Also, we would like to remind you that tomorrow is a dress up day for our Red Ribbon Week for students to wear Halloween costumes for those who wish to participate. We do ask for your assistance in working within our guidelines for school appropriate costumes. There should be no blood, no gore, no weapons. Inflatables need to be deflated after the parade. Students will also have to be able to move and sit in their costumes. Masks may only be worn during the parade due to safety. Makeup and hairspray needs to be applied at home. We will have a showcase at the beginning of the day where students will be able to see each other’s costumes. This information will also be posted on our Facebook page.

Our condolences go out to the family of Mrs. Donna Wells. Mrs. Wells was a Lakeland graduate and served as a para-educator for 19 years at Wolcott Mills. She helped a lot of little Bulldogs during that time!
