We believe in honoring your service not just with words, but with experiences that bring families closer and honor your legacy. Please share these resources with Veterans.

  • LaGrange Co. Veterans Service Office – The LaGrange County Veterans Service Office stands ready to provide veterans, and their surviving spouses and children, free assistance in filing for and receiving all local, state, and federal benefits and services they have earned and to which they are entitled through military service.
  • American Legion, LaGrange Post 215 – The American Legion is a congressionally chartered organization focused on service to veterans, service members, and their communities.
  • Veterans Crisis Line – Dial 988, then Press 1 or text 838255. Click the link to chat online. The Veterans Crisis Line serves Veterans, service members, National Guard and Reserve members, and those who support them by providing confidential, live mental health help through phone, text, and chat 24/7, 365 days a year.
  • Vet Tix: Tickets for Troops – Rediscover the joy of community. Vet Tix provides free tickets to sporting events, concerts, and family activities to help veterans reduce stress and create lifelong memories with their loved ones.
  • Honor Flight Northeast Indiana – A day of honor you’ll never forget. HFNEO provides veterans with a free, guided trip to Washington D.C. to visit the memorials dedicated to their service and sacrifice.

The Indiana Purple Star School designation honors schools that have displayed a significant commitment to service members, veterans, and students and families connected to our nation’s military. The Purple Star School Designation is valid for a three-year time period. (Indiana Department of Education Purple Star Schools)

Lakeland School Corporation continues to make progress in our efforts to achieve Purple Star School status. As part of that effort, we are actively collecting information on Lakeland graduates, employees, or relatives of graduates & employees that have served in the military. In the future, we would like to create displays to honor these veterans. Thank you for your help!
